Andre' has given me my life back! After a nasty fall I injured my left knee, I was unable to walk more than 30 to 50 feet (60 to 100 feet with the aid of 2 cane) for 9 months. There was something wrong with my left knee that would not show up in the x-rays or MRI's). I had always been an active person, particularly enjoying my daily walks with my dog, so this was extremely difficult on me.
I went to a total of 18 practitioners before I met Andre' (including various physicians, orthopedists, 3 physical therapist chiropractor, acupuncturist, massage therapists, 2 orthotists, a shoes specialist, and finally a psychologist for anxiety attacks) and nobody could help me The only direction I got was to exercise, which I did without fail for a couple of hours every day (with weights and in the pool). People tried to help me but I kept going down hill. I finally bought a wheelchair when I couldn't get across the kitchen. I was in despair and feeling frantic.
I was referred to Andre' by my orthopedic surgeon when I asked for help with possible alignment issues. Andre' recognized a serious foot instability (possibly aggravated by the fall). It felt like an immediate miracle! After nine months I could suddenly walk with out my left knee collapsing. It has been a few months now and I am improving all the time. I would like to thank you for all that you give in your work w/customized Earth Soles. Prior to wearing your customized inner soles, my body was out of balance and my feet were rolling outward. As a person with a spinal fusion, being off balance stressed my spine and led to loosing strength. My body was adapting by using supporting muscles and tendons over my thighs and lower back to help support my walking. From outward appearances I walked very well, however, over compensating led to chronic tension in my body and a loss of fluidity in my stride. I was experiencing suffocation during my sleep due to weakening of my over all body structure.
I highly recommend your personalized service and products to anyone wishing to correct body alignment. Misalignment potentially leads to many ailments and chronic pain. After few months of walking on Earth Soles all the chronic tension and other symptoms I was experiencing have disappeared. I have had a long history of foot problems...The nightmare started at an early age when my mother took me to the doctor because my feet looked different. The doctor informed her that I had a double inheritance of "high arches". The doctor said I would grow out of it or into it!! There was no cure or treatment for my feet. By the time I was in junior high school, I found it difficult to run or participate in normal sports activities with my classmates. The doctors discussed the possibility that my hips were dislocated because of the way I walked. The cure was for me to take it easy for a period of time. I did for about a week. I finally just stopped complaining and I declared myself,"well"! By the time I was in college I would have to go into the health clinic every size months and have the large calluses removed from the outside edges of my feet as that is where the pressure was when I walked.
I am 59 years old and until recently I continued to have this treatment done. When I was abut 30 and had sprained my ankles very badly for the umpteen time, I decided to go to a podiatrist. The first podiatrist told me that I had a mild case of polio as a child and that is why my feet looked so strange !!!! His instant cure was a, "good set of podiatry foot orthotics."
I have had 8 to 10 well intentioned podiatrists since and each put me in podiatry foot orthotics. The last podiatrist is a surgeon who immediately diagnosed me as having club feet. He opposed the orthotics and felt I needed surgery because of all the severe ankle sprains, as a direct result of all the misguided orthotics I have had. The surgeon had to repair a severed ligament, and a torn tendon. Oh yes, and he decided that my feet were worthy of a picture in his upcoming article for a medical journal.
Finally, I was famous if not infamous for my feet!!! His cure for my feet however, was to move both heels over to be more directly under my feet instead of off to one side or the other. The right foot was first, and it turned out better than the left foot. I was still not able to walk with out pain. In 2003, I was injured in a car accident at work which resulted in three surgeries-one for my back, my neck and shoulder. It was while attending a physical therapy clinic while working with a very knowledgeable physical therapist who had also been an accident victim, that I was referred to the man whom she said had successfully treated her feet problems. She sent me to Andre' Gilmore, I call him the "Miracle Man". He took one look at my feet and wondered how in the hell I stayed upright !!!! The miracle took about an hour and one half. It seemed instantaneous and felt magnificent...!!!!!!!! In just a few months my feet actually roll into a correct alignment position and most importantly feel great, entirely different than I have ever felt before in 59 years of walking! I can actually feel my toes on the ground and evenly balanced through out the entire foot base. Andre's methods are unique. He has a non-traditional approach, with the added concern for each individual. He is truly a blessing to those of us who have experienced very painful feet. I had total knee replacement with complications. My operative knee (right) was frozen at 24 degrees of flexion contracture. Daily activities were limited. My physical therapist suggested "orthotics".
